What is Mindfulness?
Based on the ancient Chinese medicine, Mindfulness encompass body, breathing, and being. There are many different exercises integrated to mindfulness.
How is Mindfulness used in therapy?
Mindfulness can be used in many different ways – as stress reduction tool, as anxiety reduction and depressive symptoms reduction tool, as well as a tool to control eating habits, alliviate symptoms of PTSD and stressors caused by physiological issues (serious illness, as cancer, heart disease, etc).
How often you use Mindfulness in therapy?
Usually I leave it to the client to voice their desire to use mindfulness in every session or not. Often times, mindfulness is only used as a small tool, as psychotherapy, psychoanalytical tools, CBT, and other theories are used more often.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique is a simple tapping technique to help reduce the intensity of stressful/traumatic memories. This technique uses exposure (remembering) with cognitive restructuring (self-acceptance), and body sensations.
How is EFT used in therapy?
EFT can be used in many different ways – as stress reduction tool, as anxiety reduction and depressive symptoms reduction tool, or treatment of traumatic events (from mild to serious).
